Lxkey Photography is a UK-based archive of military aviation in motion — from low-level fast jets to historic aircraft and life around the flightline.
Last light on approach — from the Behind the Wire series.
The work is built around the moments that disappear fastest: a break in formation, vapour over a wing, the last usable light, or a quiet pause before an aircraft moves again. The aim is a frame that carries the atmosphere as clearly as it records the machine.
What draws me to military aviation
Speed is only part of it. Military aviation brings engineering, weather, timing and human precision into the same viewfinder. No pass repeats exactly, so anticipation matters as much as reaction.
Where I shoot
The archive follows military aviation across UK airshows, low-level training routes and the flightline itself. It ranges from Typhoons, Lightnings and visiting aircraft to warbirds, helicopters and the ground activity either side of a sortie.
